Noodle Kugel

Every holiday meal meant my bubbe's noodle kugel. Sweet and oh so filling, I'd never think the ingredients that make up this soul-warming dish could come together so beautifully. Handed down from her Russian mother-in-law, this generations-spanning dish is a family favorite.
Ingredients
1 bag of egg noodles
6 eggs
2 sticks of butter
1 cup raisins
1 cup sugar
8 tablespoons sour cream
8 tablespoons cottage cheese
- Fill a large pot with water and liberally salt it.
- Bring water to a boil.
- Once boiling, add noodles and cook to tender.
- mix eggs, sugar, sour cream, raisins and cottage cheese in a large bowl.
- Drain water from noodles and put back in pot.
- Cut butter into tablespoon sized segments and add to pot with noodles.
- Stir until butter is mostly melted.
- Add stirred ingredients from bowl into pot and stir so noodles and everything else are thoroughly mixed.
- Spray a baking dish or foil pan with cooking spray.
- Add everything from pot into baking dish and bake at 350 for 1 hour, or until it reaches a nice brown on top. (You might want to put the tray on a cookie sheet so nothing boils over and creates a smoky mess like I have on my hands right now….)
- Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
- ENJOY!!
